The joint holiday luncheon with the Idaho 99s Women Pilots and the Gem State Chapter of Women in Aviation was held Saturday, December 7, 2024, at The Terraces in Boise. It was the 2024 celebration of women and aviation with flowing conversations and making new connections over a delicious lunch.
The group included pilots with many years of experience flying a variety of aircraft from helicopters, the Cessnas, passenger planes, and float planes to fighter jets. There were CFIs (instructors) and student pilots progressing through training. Special guests included high school students and their families just starting their aviation journey.
Amy Hoover was scheduled to speak for the event; however, she was unable to make the trip. Instead, after lunch, each person introduced themselves and answered a couple of questions to help us get to know one another better. Everyone enjoyed the sharing of stories, had some laughs, and came away with new connections.
