MAY 12th
FLYING COMPANION SEMINAR: Idaho Division of Aeronautics, 3483
Rickenbacker St., Boise
Please plan to attend all or part of the FCS. It is a fun and educational
meeting. You do not have to be a participant/presenter to attend. Hope to see
you there.
Seminar begins at 8:00am and ends at 4:30pm.
Caldwell
air show booth – June 25th
A fantastic member turnout on the planning meeting for the
Flying Companion Seminar. Special thanks to Aubree and Tawni for
hosting the meeting.
We
discussed The International Meeting in Oklahoma City. BJ would like to encourage all of you to
attend. Our Museum is located in Oklahoma City.
It is inspirational to see the displays and to know we house many
primary source materials for women in aviation. Also, International is fun and a great
place to network with women pilots. They
are all fascinating and their adventures are incredible.
We sent
a memorial for Mary Christofferson's son, James "Jim" Curtis. We also sent a remembrance in his name to the
Boise Rescue Mission. If you would like
to make a donation to the Boise Rescue Mission, the address is 675 13th
Street, Boise 83703.

J Smith Prairie June 11
Meet at Smith’s Prairie at 9:00 am. If you are driving, it takes about 2
hours. Work from 9am
to 1pm. Plan on lunch
at the Prairie Store. Beth will
call and let them know we are coming.
Work activities are the same as last year: clean outhouse, rodent patrol, change windsock,
and fence repair. Personal items to
consider bringing: sun hat, sunscreen,
gloves, water, and comfortable boots or walking shoes (that you don’t mind
getting dirty). Other items you may
consider if you own them: barb wire
fence stretcher, fencing pliers, and pointed shovel. If there are questions, please contact Beth @
880-5084.
For consideration and discussion: Beth received a call from the Homedale
airport manager. We painted the numbers
and displaced threshold some years back.
He’s wondering if we would be able to do a “paint-over” sometime in
early summer. He’s doing some repair
work in early May. Factoring in Memorial
Day weekend, it’s looking like an early to mid June project. Beth will verify that it is in fact just a paint over. If it
is, she’s proposing a week night project (1 night) during the week of June 13
or June 20. Beth proposes June 14th,
16th, or 21st.
